Stop Late Night Weight Gain With These 3 Easy Tricks: Most people have heard the advice that eating later in the evening isn’t healthy, but many don’t know exactly where that wisdom comes from. Most of us assume it’s because when we sleep, we burn less calories. It actually has more to do with the unhealthy eating habits we form.

For many working moms, the habit of eating late is born out of necessity. In the race to get the kids fed, bathed and tucked in each night, you and your significant other often put off your own meal time until much later than you should. How many times have you found yourself starting dinner at 9 p.m. or later?
Often, you find yourself waiting for the kids to go to sleep and then reaching for the phone to order a high-calorie, low-prep work dinner for you and your spouse.

1. Eat When Your Kids Eat

Easier said than done, I know (especially if your kids are high maintenance at the dinner table). But pretty soon you’ll be eating at the right time and finding healthier alternatives for both you and your family.
More than just eating healthier and spending more quality time with your kids, your late night cravings will go away too, helping you to go to bed earlier and wake up more energized.

2. 12 Hours Between Dinner And Breakfast

If you’re eating when your kids eat, then this next piece of advice is going to be much easier to follow. Giving your body the optimal time for digestion at night means that you’ll actually process all the nutrients you received with your dinner.
You’ll wake up ready for your next meal, instead of bloated and tired—with a food hangover.

3. Hydrate, Hydrate Hydrate

Drink a full glass of water—before you eat breakfast—and keep drinking all day long. Drinking lots of water doesn’t add weight or make you feel bloated. In fact, drinking water all day long is the key to successful weight loss.
And nothing beats the cleansing power of water! Your skin will get a glowing boost, too.
